Toronto real estate agents must make data public: Federal appeals court

The Federal Court of Appeal has upheld a preview decision ordering the largest real estate group in the country to make detailed financial information about home sales more open to the public, according to BNN. 

The decision against the Toronto Real Estate Board is expected to have widespread ramifications and affect how other real estate boards provide services to customers on the Internet.

Luxury homes market booming in Canmore

The gradual recovery of Alberta’s economy is helping to drive real estate sales in Canmore, according to Calgary Sun. 

"There were 216 sales of properties from $500,000 to $1 million between January 1st to October 31st, 2017, up four percent from the same period in 2016. Sixty-seven properties sold over $1 million, up 20 percent from the 56 units between January and October 31, 2016. The increase in properties selling in the top-tier market segment has lifted the average sale price from $655,159 in 2016 to $732,413 this year."
