About this home

Tucked into a quiet side street near Yonge & Eglinton, 79 Redpath Ave offers the space and privacy of a home with the convenience of full-service condominium living. Set across four levels, this three-bedroom, four-bathroom condo townhouse features nine-foot ceilings; each bedroom has its own private balcony space and a stunning 700 sq ft rooftop terrace with BBQ gas line, water and electricity.

The main level offers a generous living and dining area with walnut hardwood floors, nine-foot ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows at both the front and rear. The kitchen features marble counters and backsplash, custom cabinetry, high-end Bosch appliances, a Fisher & Paykel refrigerator and breakfast bar, with a walkout to the rear green space.

Upstairs, the primary bedroom features a private west-facing balcony, double closet and marble-finished 3-piece ensuite with a glass-enclosed shower. The second bedroom offers its own private balcony, two closets and a 4-piece ensuite with a soaker tub and rain shower.

The third level adds another layer of living space with a family room, third bedroom with private balcony, full bathroom and dedicated laundry room.

The fourth level is amazing. Step outside to the private rooftop terraceโ€”approximately 700 sq. ft. with both covered and open areas, pavers, water connection and natural gas hookup for the BBQ. Itโ€™s an exceptional setting for summer dinners, entertaining or simply enjoying the city from above.

Being part of 83 Redpath, you will also enjoy concierge service and package delivery, a 20th-floor gym, outdoor hot tub and terrace with epic city views, a party room, theatre room, boardroom, guest suites, visitor parking and yoga room.

Just minutes from Yonge & Eglinton, with transit, shops, restaurants, parks and neighbourhood amenities close at hand, 79 Redpath offers a rare combination of townhouse scale, private outdoor space and full-service Midtown convenience.

Life at Yonge & Eglinton, from the sellers

The sellers of 79 Redpath Avenue answered these questions about living here before the home went to market.

Why did you choose Yonge & Eglinton and Redpath?

I worked at Yonge & Eglinton in 2005โ€“2006 and got familiar with the area while we were still at Victoria Park and Kingston Road, commuting by bus and subway. I really enjoyed the shops and walkability โ€” it felt safe and comfortable. That stuck with us when we bought here.

What do you love most about the townhouse and the neighbourhood?

The townhouse is extremely well built and quite spacious for a family of four and a small dog. It was โ€” and still is โ€” turnkey, which is very appealing if you donโ€™t want renos. Not having to share bathrooms was a big plus. We still enjoy walking to local parks and trails โ€” Sherwood Park, Mount Pleasant Cemetery โ€” and as a shopper you canโ€™t beat the variety of grocery stores, services, restaurants, and takeout within walking distance.

Why this home over the others you saw?

It was aesthetically pleasing, with great appliances, tall ceilings, parking, lockers, and access to the amenities at 83 Redpath. We did see a few other homes in 2011โ€“12, but they were out of our budget and we didnโ€™t want to get into multiple bidding wars. Redpath was the one that made sense.

How do you get downtown from 79 Redpath?

Line 1 on the TTC. Itโ€™s about a 10โ€“13 minute walk to Eglinton Station, then about 25 minutes on the subway to College Station. I did that commute for 14 years โ€” a direct trip that really sealed why we chose Redpath.

Where do you go for coffee, groceries, and a quick meal?

Coffee: Tim Hortons most days, plus Starbucks nearby and independents like Haleโ€™s (where Farm Boy is), Origin Coffee on Mount Pleasant, and Paris Baguette on Yonge. Groceries: Loblaws, Metro, Farm Boy, No Frills, and sometimes Summerhill Market โ€” depends whatโ€™s on sale or what weโ€™re craving. Takeout: 99 Cent Sushi/Thai, Kinton Ramen, Monkey Sushi, Pizzaiolo, A&W, Shake Shack once in a while. Sit-down: Pai Uptown, Stock TC Market, Ajisen Ramen, and Moru.

Which parks, trails, and building amenities do you actually use?

We go next door to 83 if we want the gym equipment. Rob bikes the streets out to the nearby trails. Mount Pleasant Cemetery is a walk down Mount Pleasant toward Davisville โ€” around 25โ€“30 minutes. Sherwood Park is about 30โ€“40 minutes on foot.

Is Redpath quiet? What about construction?

I find it relatively quiet overall. Youโ€™ll occasionally hear a siren as emergency vehicles go up or down the street โ€” very rare. There has been construction noise from a new building nearby, usually after about 7 a.m., but itโ€™s not an all-day thing inside. We havenโ€™t sat on the terrace as often since construction began; itโ€™s getting closer to completion. When we first moved in, terrace evenings were very pleasant. I consider Redpath fairly quiet overall.

Any โ€œonly a neighbour would knowโ€ tips?

From the parking ramp you can exit toward Brownlow when youโ€™re heading east โ€” it saves driving around the block. We donโ€™t deal with elevators in the townhouse. The lobby at 83 is pretty quiet if you just need a break. Packages can go to the concierge at 83 instead of sitting at our door โ€” real peace of mind. Management has been good about looking after issues; when Rob asked about replacing the shrubbery out front, they followed up.

Which shops and services are walkable?

Kitchen Stuff Plus on Yonge; Winners at Yonge-Eglinton Centre; Rexall and Shoppers nearby for essentials on sale. Our dentist and family GP are within walking distance โ€” Dr. Fisher at Yonge Eglinton Dental is lovely. Cobโ€™s Bread on Yonge for fresh bread and pastries now and then.

What do buyers often misunderstand about Yonge & Eglinton or living here?

Yonge & Eglinton is very much an urban young-professional neighbourhood, but it is family-friendly too. Itโ€™s diverse โ€” Asian, Middle Eastern, Italian cuisine, plus the usual standbys. I havenโ€™t heard negatives about 83 Redpath; theyโ€™re pretty good at looking after issues, and directing packages to the concierge rather than leaving them at the door is peace of mind.
