Canadian Real Estate Prices Post Largest Decline Since 1995
Canadian sales activity declined 11.1% in 2018, compared to a year before. The average price of a detached home dropped 4.9% to $472,000. This represents the largest slowdown since 1995 and the first time national prices have fallen since the depression in 2008.

Average Canadian house cost $472K in December, down 4.9% in 2018
The average Canadian home sold in December cost $472,000, a figure that declined by almost five per cent in 2018.
The Canadian Real Estate Association also said Tuesday that the number of homes sold was down, too, to the lowest annual pace since 2012.
